Best Books of 2017

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, I didn’t read many 2017 releases, so this post will be a little different – these are my favorite books that I have read in 2017 , regardless of the date of release. I read some AMAZING books this year and I can’t wait to share them with you – although I’m most of you have read them as well. I’ll put these in order of when I read them because they’re all too great to compete against each other.

An Ember in the Ashes and A Torch Against the Night by Sabaa Tahir

This was my first read this year and the sequel was one of the last I read this year. Both were incredibly with such great world building and character development. I also loved the introduction of magic in a book where I wasn’t expecting any because it took me by surprise. I cannot wait for the release of the third book later this year.

A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

This series owns my soul. No – Rhysand owns my soul. I am such trash for him. I have never loved a character so much. I may face serious medical issues by not reading A Court of Wings and Ruin soon. The world is so beautiful – I wish Pyrthian were a real place, except without so much death and war. I would love to explore there, and I hope we get to see more of the world.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

I was not expecting to like this book at all, but I saw it on clearance at a book store and the cover was so gorgeous. I really don’t like seeing documents and such in books, and this was a book written through documents, but it was amazing! I didn’t understand how I could grow so attached to the characters without any real interaction and dialogue, but I did, and I even cried at the end

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

My goodness. With the way this book left off, I need The Rose and the Dagger. This book was one of the biggest rollercoaster rides of emotions – it was like the longest, most rough wooden rollercoaster you can imagine that could fall apart at any second.

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge

This book knew every way to toy with my feelings. I adore Ignifex, though – he reminded me so much of Rhysand, which may be why. The ending was also an explosion of feelings and I didn’t know how to control myself. I also talk about this book way too much on social media.

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian

This was the last book I finished in 2017, and it was such a good way to end the year. There wasn’t much of a bang at the end like I was expecting, but the whole novel was great, and I cannot wait for the sequel because I know that bang is coming, and it is going to be huge.

Thanks for reading!
